Libremesh uses by default babeld, which is currently very well integrated with OpenWrt.
On the other hand, according to the creator of babel:
There are currently two production quality implementations of Babel: babeld, the reference implementation, and a high-quality implementation included in BIRD.

It would be possible to do a libremesh network profile that basically puts a specific /etc/bird.conf with babel configuration
